Questions about joining a trip

What to expect when you book a seat on a group departure

A fixed departure is a trip that runs on dates already decided by the organiser. You book a seat on one of those dates rather than asking for a custom trip, which is why the price per person and the itinerary are known up front.

Yes. Most fixed departures are made up of individuals and small groups travelling together, so joining alone is normal. The trip page shows the group size so you know roughly how many people to expect.

Each trip lists its own inclusions on its page — typically travel from the departure city, stay, and the activities named in the itinerary. Meals and personal expenses vary by trip, so check the inclusions before booking.

Choose a departure date on the trip page and submit an enquiry. The organiser confirms availability and tells you what is needed to hold your seat. A seat is only reserved once that is confirmed.

Group departures need a minimum number of travellers. If a departure does not reach it, the organiser will offer you another date or a refund.

Yes. What you get back depends on how close to the departure date you cancel — see our Cancellation & Refund Policy, and the terms shown on the individual trip.

Many are. Each trip shows a difficulty level and a minimum age, so you can tell whether a trek is a gentle walk or a demanding climb before you book.

Yes. If you have your own group — colleagues, family, a college batch — tell us the dates and group size through an enquiry and we will arrange a departure for you.
